“With Mode Zen I wanted to make that typical Venja-kind of music but also wanted it to be new and even contemporary sounding. I also wanted to add a certain warmth or a kind of lo-fi sound which I personnally like a lot and miss in most of the modern recordings. That’s why some tracks contain crackels, radio noise or soft ambient-like background noises were used to achieve that. I never make music just to make music, each track tells a story, takes you away on a trip”.
