Krzysztof Duda - Audiofonica (2022)

The sonic dimension of Krzysztof Duda's new album was achieved by rather simple but carefully chosen means, without unnecessary interference of sound processors in the musical material. Some of the longer sample sequences have been copied from the materials of previous years. The album belongs to the so-called Berlin School (Berliner Schule). Duda uses proven instruments, keyboards Korg, Kurzweil, Moog, you can also hear here Mellotron 4000D. The performer himself is responsible for all the compositions, but on three tracks Przemysław Rudź and Bartosz Wielgosz also contributed. The compositions for the album Audiofonica were recorded with PCM 16/44.1 , even though in the interview the musician says that the best choice should be 24/44.1. Apparently, he wanted to retain the rawness that characterized early Krautrock recordings, only in the digital age."
"... The Audiofonica album is interesting and therefore not an afterthought. It uses the instruments that the German electronic music revolution gave us, that's for sure. However, for Krzysztof, these are just instruments, not finished products. He adds his sensitivity to that, so that we get an interesting, sweepingly recorded, very good sounding, going back in time, but at the same time modern album.
