Nice 2014 “Electronic Music” album by Polish multi-instrumentalist that comes from the melodic space-music with a touch of Eastern promise mould!

This album will take you to a journey through the ‘Future City’ - A place where acoustic and electronic music come together in harmony!
Although this is an “Electronic Music” album, some influences come from traditional far Eastern music and Jazz. All tracks were recorded in an "old fashion" way, without using any computer programs or sequencers and relying purely on musician’s skills.
The real name of the composer of this work is Mark Wyrwas - A PhD Student in the field of opto-electronics. As a multi-instrumentalist, he plays various synthesizers, cello, guzheng, guitars and percussion instruments.

Here’s a brief rundown on all nine tracks…

‘Search For The Future City’ in very filmic and sounds very like a Vangelis opening sequence to something like the ‘Bladerunner’ movie.
‘Dawn Over Future City’ is similarly Vangelis-like with its lead synth/organ and piano melodies set over a vast, deep brooding atmosphere of electronic atmospheric sounds.
‘Chinese Dragon’ opens with a quaint Eastern atmosphere then a vamping synth rhythm strikes up overlaid by high register synth leads, and it’s all slightly reminiscent of a sequence from Vangelis’ ‘Heaven & Hell’ album.
‘Monsoon Player’ has another beautiful Eastern influenced introduction and it stays in that mode throughout the entire track.
‘Dragonfly’ remains tinged with lovely Eastern themes, but the electronics are back in the form of choral voices and synth melodies, but with a pulsating rhythmic element added this time.
‘Afternoon In A Bar’ is very much as the title suggests and is moody and relaxed, sounding a bit like some kind of electronic ‘Pink Panther’ out-take!
‘Night Under The Bridge’ also suggests its title within the framework of the melodic, yet atmospheric music that is again rather filmic in construction.
‘Cosmonautica - The Moon Landing’ goes back into the realms of melodic cosmic/space music with Nasa samples and the likes adding to the atmosphere of a piece. The 2nd half of the track sees layers of synths gradually creeping up in the mix and creating another grandiose, almost ‘Bladerunner’ feel towards the close.
‘Exit From The Future City’ is again Vangelis-like in its construction with the sounds of cosmic helicopters closing the album in real spacey style.

This is a really nice album – there’s nothing taxing or difficult about it and it does take you out of the world of now into a “Future City” if you are so inclined to relax and dream with the music, and let your imagination take over.

‘Future City’ is released on 27th November 2014.
