Immersive EM offering plenty to "see" in the mind's eye as you “journey” through the cosmos, especially when you take the trip though headphones!
This is atmospheric and spacey “ Berlin School” style music that takes you on a vivid audio journey though the cosmos of your mind!
Not that there are no melodic passages - there are - but slightly more low key, sometimes delivered in the high-register variety that is almost Tomita-ish in form on one track, and on another symphonic and Vangelis-like, but always beautiful and very cosmic! The 3rd track: ‘Neuronium’ is aptly named as it reminded me a little of early NEURONIUM at times!
The music is never boring though - there really is plenty to "see" as things pass you by in the mind's eye on this “journey” through the cosmos, and it is especially immersive when played though headphones.
This album is full of fascinating electronic sounds, with stereo effects that sometimes circle between the speakers and there are a few vocoder monologues to enhance the highly illustrative qualities of this drifting, yet melodious and very interesting music.
The label describes this music as “a niche work, rather for connoisseurs of the genre”, but I think it is more accessible than that implies, providing the listener is prepared to get involved and go on the journey with the musicians. Sure, you will find many references to the classics of meditative electronic music, such as TANGERINE DREAM in the mid 70’s, but there’s a whole lot more besides.
