  • Steve Hauschildt will release his latest album, Where All Is Fled, via Kranky on September 25th. Before and after the split of his old group Emeralds, the Cleveland producer has issued a steady stream of thoughtful, ambient-leaning synthesizer music via Kranky, Editions Mego and his own Gneiss Things. On 2012's Sequitur, Hauschildt introduced vocals into his analog-focused productions. Where All Is Fled is an instrumental record that "sonically harkens back to his earlier albums such as Rapt For Liquid Minister and Tragedy & Geometry," according to Kranky. For the new LP, Hauschildt looked to surrealistic landscape paintings, early alchemical problems and recurring visions for inspiration, hiding samples of crowd sounds, animal noises and text-to-speech synthesis within his modern Kosmische compositions. Check out the new record's title track below.
