about

Neil is a genius, but he's not great at giving me any info to work with when I'm writing the blurb. I wish I had the time to write a longer review but I don't as I've got a Q&A to write tonight for Subscriber, Richard S, who's brilliantly opening a new record store on 3rd Jan and is even more brilliantly featuring some CiS stuff. I've kept him waiting for this for too long, but please keep your eyes on logofiasco.com and twitter.com/LogoFiasco to check out what's happening there. I'm going to sort them out with some exclusives at some point.

Anyway, Neil Hale. Brighton's finest. I had an LP from him ready for sending off for manufacture. Then he sent another album's worth of material. So, "Clouds of Venus" and "Zodiac Rising" were two seperate albums and somewhere along the line I asked if we could double up for the Subscribers. Being the loveliest and most easy going dude in the world, he of course said 'yes'.

He's prolific. He told me not long back that he had bought a "load of gear" and was doing something that "sounds like Aphex". He's given me something absolutely extraordinary for the subscription library next year which I think you're all going to be blown away by. Nick's finishing off the artwork this week.

Neil's Protodroids nom de groove is used for his more funky and dance based tracks and what a fantastic showcase for that area of his talents this album is. Another inspiration for this one is an abstraction of early NYC rap or Chicago House. It all goes in and then comes back out. Lucky us.

A happy accident with this one, but the Correlations LP is on the slow/sequenced side of the room and therefore compliments the upbeat mood of this one perfectly. I hope you enjoy.

The vinyl will start to ship early next year.
The three remaining (late) albums for 2022 will not count towards the 2023 baseline 9 records commitment from the Head Librarian.
