Set a course and sail off into the stars with Ex Ox’s kosmische-inspired soundscapes.

Canadian musician, Andrew Dickson of Tricky Woo, Soft Canyon and Mongrels, was inspired to create this, his first solo record, after having a near death experience. The existential crisis he faced and the psychological and physical trauma he endured were all processed though these sonic experimentations in his home studio in Quebec. The results are staggering.

With rolling beats, hypnotic synthesizer pulsations and cascading streams of cold, electronic drones, Dickson channels feelings of dread, hope and deep contemplation on this record. Tracks like “Moderate Reasonable Alienation” are deeply meditative and insular, while cuts like “Telomere Crisis” erupt like a cathartic and defiant shout to the universe that make you feel alive.

For fans of classic Kosmische groups like Cluster or Tangerine Dream and more modern acts like Kosmischer Läufer and Tarotplane will surely dig this album. Click here to get your copy from Bandcamp.
