In September 2019, the music world lost a true force.
Candy Lozier (Candy L) was a composer, performer, label founder, fan, advisor, supporter, confidant, collaborator, and all-around cheerleader for the music and artists she loved. She founded the netlabel
Studio4632.com and shepherded the release of over 200 albums spanning the range of ambient, experimental, and neo-classical electronic music (or whatever else her friends and artists were up to.)
This compilation (which will be at least 2 volumes) is a celebration by her friends, artists, collaborators, supporters, and listeners of her life, her work, and her never-ending support.
it's appropriate to begin this collection (Volume 1) with one of her favorite pieces, and one of Cousin Silas' most played tracks - "Song For Candy." The collection will end (Volume 2) with a track by Cousin Silas and Candy from material from their last (still unreleased) collaboration sessions. It is the final collaboration.
Any funds received from these memorial albums will be forwarded to Candy's sister, Jeannine, to donate in Candy's name to an appropriate cause.
The stunning outpouring and diversity of these tracks is a tribute to Candy's life, her vision, and its importance to so many of us. These last three hours are just a beginning of keeping the music and that vision alive.
As one participant put it, "You've already had to split it into two releases, which proves the influence that Candy Lozier had on 'the biz.'"
