Akikaze is Dutch musician Peipijn Courant. He plays very versatile music which is mostly analog. Smart, melodic (not schmaltzy) and pleasant. The sequences are very good, I haven’t heard such good analog music for a long time. Anyway, it should appeal to a wide audience and the lovers of Electronic Music will sure want to have these albums in their collection. It’s very difficult to compare his music to other musicians, it’s actually quite unique, and that is a rarity too. Most of his albums are available on CD. Highly recommended! - EEM

This ninth album will appeal to listeners of sequencer driven music. Ruud Heij (Patchwork, Free System Projekt) played analogue sequencers and modular synthesizer on the improvised piece 'Mercury rising'. While 'In high places' was inpired by mankind's achievement, this album was inspired by mankind's dark side. Two pieces, however, 'A new beginning' and 'A perfect storm' reflect hope. The latter piece is a showcase of a wide range instruments, such as the Indian santoor, guitar, oriental percussion and... sequencers.
