Arrocata is the moniker for composer Robert Straub.

''Living in the Sonoran Desert has been a constant source of inspiration for me. I have enjoyed its amazing scenery and respected its vast expanses of raw wilderness. I have also found some of its unique locations and ruins to be places full of mystery, intrigue and of course, the center of many Indian Legends.

Stories still circulate about this desert from long time residents, skilled adventurers and seasoned hikers alike. Many of these stories describe disturbingly similar occurrences of experiencing a sudden and inexplicable feeling of uneasiness, or the sensation of being watched.

Whether this is the result of 150 years of Local Lore surrounding mysterious appearances, disappearances, deaths, lost gold, Indian Legends claiming otherworldly presences, or the cumulative effect of 6500 years of habitation by various peoples that have populated and revered the area….. I have no idea.

I can only say that the Sonoran Desert is an absolutely beautiful and unique place. As a long time resident I would add that when you travel or hike in the Sonoran Desert, never let its beauty completely fill your senses. You must always respect its ability to be lethal (as it often is) and expect the unexpected, as these seem to be everyday occurrences here. ''
