"Voyages", recorded and produced in Ron Boots’ Dreamscape studio, is the debut album by German musician Claus Bockstandt.
After all these years it’s still a joy to listen to this nice example of harmonious, melodic music.
The music already takes on a great flight as warm sounds of the first track "Mystic Voyages" unfold, in the last section graced by a typical Ron Boots solo. Other strong great tracks are "To the Pyramids" (with an even better solo by Ron) and the closing piece "Spaceflight".
And there’s the almost over-the-top "Romantic Dreams", a sonic love affair in all its veins which unfortunately didn’t turn out the commercial hit it was expected to become in those days (I’m talking about the golden days of the German EM radio-show "Schwingungen" here).
All in all, the twelve tracks of "Voyages" offer uncomplicated, accessible and melodic music bearing both the trademarks of the Eindhovense School as German synthesizer music.
