Confluence is a collection of original tunes written by Danish synthesist Kristian Borregaard, his keyboards supported by bass and acoustic guitar, and, on one cut, soprano sax. The mainly slow to mid-tempo pieces draw on a variety of sources, from light jazz, pop, ethnic, and classical music. There is one moody solo piano tune, and a lively Middle Eastern style piece, complete with the sounds of finger cymbals, doumbec and santur. The overall feeling is relaxed and romantic, with a bit more emphasis on rhythmic development than on most other Fonix releases.
