Jeremy’s 1999 album for the long-defunct Moonchild label is a bit of a departure from his Kinesis albums in that there is very little guitar on Salt the Planet, though there is a lot of guitar synth. This is Jeremy’s ‘heavy-synth’ style, which can be heard in spots on his Kinesis albums, and is a style he does very well. This is structured, melodic, rhythmic, rock-based synth music, not too far from the power-synth styles of Mark Shreeve and Andy Pickford. - Kinesis Album Notes - Jeremy Morris (E-bow, synthesizer, guitar synthesizer, mini-Moog synthesizer, midi, electric bass, drums, percussion, sampler, wind). The third instrumental prog album from Christian rocker Jeremy Morris, this one has few surprises, but instead carries on the traditions of his other two releases. The disc has a bit of common ground with the work of Larry Fast's Synergy and should appeal to fans of those albums. However, there are other elements present, ranging as far away in style as Prince. As is the case with that musician's earlier works, Morris single-handedly created the music here, from the writing to the performance. The album is definitely solid instrumental prog that should appeal to both Jeremy's fans and those of prog in general. ~ Gary Hill CDBaby | Review | Progarchives | Review Tracklist: 1.
