 Michael Neil has been composing Electronic music for over 25 years and has released over 20 albums. His works cover many styles from space music to experimental, but "wall-of-sound" symphonics are perhaps his trademark with plaudits heralding some of his works as the finest of their genre. Graham Getty produced his first album in 1992 utilising a single synthesizer workstation. Getty's penchant for sequencing was evident even then despite the relative paucity of sequencing technology, and after a 17 year hiatus Getty recently returned to the fray with two albums heavily influenced by the classic Berlin School style of sequencing. The common ground between Neil and Getty lies firmly in the 70's, having both "cut their musical teeth" to a back-cloth of Tangerine Dream, Klaus Schulze, Vangelis, Kraftwerk and Giorgio Moroder to name but a few. Retrochet presents a 60 minute blend of all these influences but arranged via a combination of the artists' own unique styles. From his Berlin studio, Neil brings to bear a variety of synthesizers both classic and modern, and utilises many of the cutting-edge software tools available today. Getty works from his Manchester studio utilising step sequencer technology to drive an array of hardware synthesisers both virtual and analog. Via the latest collaborative opportunities the internet age has to offer, Neil and Getty have crafted a set of pieces for those who like EM built on the foundations of the past masters rather than purely influenced by the technological flow.
