The Far East Family Band was formed by guitarist and vocalist Fumio Miyashita. The first incarnation was called Far Out. Their Far Out (Mu Land, 1973) contains two side-long suites. The CD reissue adds seven pieces from The Cave Down the Earth.
The Cave Down the Earth (Mu Land, 1974), featuring the young keyboardist Masanori "Kitaro" Takahashi, contains the heavily electronic pieces Saying To The Land (8:22), The Cave, Down To The Earth (8:18), Transmigration (11:03).
Nipponjin (Vertigo, 1975) contains Nipponjin (16:51) and River of Soul (8:28).
Parallel World (Mu Land, 1976) includes the 16-minute Entering and the six-movement 30-minute suite Parallel World.
Tenkujin (1977), without keyboardist Kitaro, closed their career.
