Life.in.Mono is a solid piece of Spacerock. Floating, romantic, kosmisch. The album sounds like a melange of eighties/nineties Spacerock and Neo Krautrock. Naive melodies, typical sequencer sounds, echoes, driving drums and space organs.

Life.In.Mono is an offshoot project of Music for Headphones featuring Jonathan Allen, the band's primary songwriter and guitarist. Life.In.Mono explores the individual elements of the multi-layered Headphones arrangements, veering off into directions inspired by Krautrock, ambient music and electronica. Instead of a song-oriented format, Life.In.Mono creates soundscapes with multilayered synths, stoic drumbeats, and electric guitar loops with nods to Kraftwerk, Cabaret Voltaire and Neu! The tracks are driven by needling melodies and bass riffs.
