When Stargarden tells you to "step off," it's clear that they mean "off" of the normal platform of daily life, and directly into a big night sky of softly pulsating ambient sounds. Bobby Devito has a real talent for juxtaposing interesting sonic patterns, which then somehow become these ever-expanding and shrinking sound forms and give his music a natural, even organic quality. It's ambient/space music, sure, but it's very structured, so it lends itself well to studying and working.
