Following up 2005's apocalyptic Abaddon, the Phoenix rises from the smoldering ashes of civilization. Originally released in 2007, this album retained and expanded on many previous elements: ambient textures, a wide array of digital distortion, low-resolution drums, slow and maestoso. But it also brought a handful of new influences, most prominently mid-70's electronic music in the vein of Tangerine Dream and Klaus Schulze, with their arpeggiated synthesizer basslines.
The 2014 version adds many new electronic and acoustic instruments, revamped drums and overall better mixing and mastering treatment.
