Polypores - The Impossibility (2017)
Haunted, mysterious analog synth compositions. Some of the more rhythmic tracks lead towards synthwave or minimal synth. - http://pugachov.ru/eem/pa.html#POLYPORES

Ogre - Ballard (2018)
Side A (Track 1-7):
Inspired by the short story ‘The Zone Of Terror’ by J. G. Ballard.
After a nervous breakdown, Larsen retreats to a desert resort under the care of psychologist Bayliss. A series of psychoretinal hallucinations begin to evolve, induced by Bayliss’ course of psilocybin treatment; the spectres of translucent men walk amongst the uninhabited chalets, as Larsen falls outside of time.
Side B:
Based on the short stories ‘News from the Sun’, ‘Memories of the Space Age’ & ‘Myths of the Near Future’ by J. G. Ballard.
The space grounds along Cape Canaveral lie empty. Abandoned launch sites, the husks of the Apollo missions, litter the coastline. Space flight has brought about a psychic fissure: a fugue inducing space sickness. Humanity succumbs to a debilitating, timeless trance. A lone astronaut, responsible for the first murder in space, haunts his victims among the deserted Florida hotels.

All Of Them Witches - Hunters Moon (2018)
Synth scores for horror films not yet made or that don’t really exist are one of the specialties of Burning Witches Records. Gary Dimes, AKA All of Them Witches, AKA co-founder of that record label, contributes a powerful collection to the faux-synth-scores genre with Hunters Moon. He excels at tapping into the music of the films of John Carpenter and Dario Argento, but injects a freshness and originality that renders these tracks anything but mere emulation.
All of Them Witches, a one-man operation, runs on the imagination and nightmares of Gary Dimes. He steps into the musical world of 70s and 80s horror cinema and stitches together musical motifs and Gothic melodies that wouldn’t be out of place in stories told by Argento, Romero, Coscarelli, and Carpenter. His second album Hunters Moon features 11 tracks, blending synth driven ambient electronica and brooding dark tales.

Richard Band - Puppet Master I & II (1989-1991)
Richard Band has scored more than 70 films, including From Beyond, Re-Animator, Ghoulies, The Arrival, Shrunken Heads, and many more. There are but a handful of composers toiling in terror that fully understand how to manipulate an image. Max Steiner, Bernard Hermann, Ennio Morricone, Jerry Goldsmith, Riz Ortalani, Danny Elfman, Christopher Young; all of these visionary artists helped define not only how we watch horror and dark fantasy films, but how we listen to them as well. We can easily add Richard Band to that list of heavy sonic hitters. The veteran music man has sculpted dozens upon dozens of rapturous scores for films ranging from the classic (RE-ANIMATOR) to the curious (MUTANT) to the questionable (LASERBLAST). But perhaps no other work defines Band s genius than the haunting soundtrack he created for his Brother Charles Band s immortal 1989 thriller PUPPET MASTER and its many sequels. The tale of a mystical puppeteer named Andre Toulon and his troupe of living, lethal marionettes who are dispatched through the ages to commit all manner of mischief and murder, the PUPPET MASTER films are the Band brothers calling cards, revered B movies that exemplify craft and have over, the past quarter century, have etched a fascinating cinematic mythology. Outside of the presence of the now iconic dolls themselves, at the center of the PUPPET MASTER voodoo is that haunting Band music and of course the gently malevolent theme itself. Taking tinkling found sounds, electronic and symphonic elements and weaving them into a majestic death waltz, the PUPPET MASTER theme speaks of magic, mystery and the unknown. Along with the other marvelous themes, cues and stings you ll find here from many of the PUPPET MASTER sequels, this music is a testament to Richard Band s talent and ability to turn even the most modestly budgeted effort into rich, fully immersive and grandiose cinematic experiences. So sit back, relax, put needle to wax and lose yourself in Band s charmingly perverse macabre music. And for best results...please...listen in the dark.
