Another quality despatch from Subexotic Records. Planetar by Canadian producer David Salisbury, aka Camp of Wolves, is an album of orchestral drone, mesmeric and monumental, drenched in analogue textures and deep reverb. Not dreamy but wondrous. Stylistically, the eight ambient pieces collected on 'Planetar' are imbued with a classical texture, doused in heavy, endless reverb to give the listener that sensation of hurtling through the darkness of space.

Giants Of Discovery is the alias of ambient/experimental artist Kevin Downey. On his album 'And It's Goodnight From The Human Race' there is a profound sense of melancholy, as if we are collectively longing for something that was once held dear, but which is now lost forever. Despite oscillating between those two poles, Downey was keen for the album to take the listener on mankind's journey to a new home, the conclusion of which he wanted to be upbeat and positive.

Radagast - Yavanna (2023)
Radagast (Arcane Earth Reboot) is a solo ambient-empire project of Leipzig-born Austrian synth composer Josua Karlson. Flowing synths, cosmic moods, mysterious atmospheres... Using the Elektron Digitone, the author creates sequencing structures that may be aimed at a "dungeon synth" sound, but end up sounding very similar to EM. Inspired by Tolkien, Radagast flawlessly combine Berlin sound with dungeon synth aesthetics in their second release Yavanna.
